thumbs? like thumbnails???? because thumbnails are mini photographic previews you can recognize at a glance instead of the listed file... could that be what it means?

If the folder is set to Enable Thumbnail viewing, the folder will have a thumbs database file. It is an index of the viewable content in the folder, and will recreate itself.

It is not a virus - just leave it be.

thumbs.db is in every folder on your computer that contains images and you have looked at using the thumbnail view.

Windows creates this file. Its normal.

You're fine, this is not a virus. But, I wouldn't use Bearshare if I was you! You can get viruses off that site!

no its not
what it is the person who first shared the file, shared the whole folder it was in
in turn he or she accidently shared there thumb.db
wich are usually hidden but after file transfer they show up
yer puter is prolly seeing it as 1 of it's thumbs
i do believe these thumbs are used for system restore

it's not a virus and safe to delete. If the application needs it to play the movie/vid/pictures, it'll create it again.
