With no universe, there will be no space-time in it. So, there will be nothing to "stand still".
But, that whole heaven thing sounds okay and it's been the most successful and profitable business on the planet for quite awhile, so they must be right.

Well, time is relative, and if the "known universe" just :comes to an end" there will be stretched time. I guess time will always be ticking, it really depends on this "end" of the universe. If everything gets packed into an infinitely small point in space, it would rip the planes of space and time and then something interesting should happen, but who cares, impossible to observe or participate in.

when the universe comes to an end, there will be no time to measure, expect though that there will be an eternity for us in the Heavens. For those of us who have Jesus in our hearts and believe that He died for us, for our sins.

Rather than come to an end, scientific research has shown that it probably will continue indefinitely.
