Because many of them feel insecure and want to see how other people feel about them. They can ask their family and/or friends but sometimes family and friends say things just to please you (like even if you look ugly, they might say you look pretty, so your feelings don't get hurt). They ask it here cause strangers can be like more honest with them cause we don't know eachother personally. It's either insecureness or that person just wants some attention.

I know!! That question bugs the h*** out of me!! It's just a CARTOON!! Why cant they just understand that!! If they want us to judge them on their loos, then they should put their REAL picture on here. THEN we will decide if they look cute or not. I think when people ask this question, it just makes them appear desperate, and starving for attention, and they must also have insecurity issues, and low self-esteem. I wish they would stop though. Especially the women!!

Yes,yo are right.I am a little bit tired of those people.They ask that question if:
1) they know they look good,but they feel satisfaction when someone else tells them that (again);meaning-they are ego-centric
2) they are maybe a little bit insecure so they just want to see what other people around here think about them

Because they are vain!
Most people want to hear good things about themselves, that someone wants to have their company, and they think that being physically attractive is the key to drawing people to oneself. Well, it helps, but it is not essential, nor is it really that important. See Proverbs 31:30.
