What 'paj' said. When I was younger, I was stupider and more naive than I am now. Young people always think they know more than they do, which is cool really, because it allows them to learn.
But if an older person could go back into a younger persons body, they'd do things differently.

Old too soon wise too late....
Time and time again I hear "If only I knew then what I know now..." But, the way I see it, if I didn't have all of my experiences, if I didn't have all my ups and downs, if I didn't have my youth while I was young where would that leave me now? *shrugs* I don't know and I never will. I can tell you this.....the young can keep youth. They deserve youth. It is the only time you can truly be 'free'. As you grow older and have learned some important lessons you are better able to accept getting 'old'. Because you then realize, 'old' isn't bad....it is just different. And, it won't be long, when you are too old, it is almost like you are young again. The circle of life. *sighs*
And as the proverb says: “The old age of an eagle is better than the youth of a sparrow.”

I think it means it's a pitty that they are young, but not wise enough to enjoy it thorougly. I know that as a teenager all I wanted to do was get older. I didn't just live in the minute. I wanted to be 13, then 16 then 18, instead of enjoying my youth just being a kid.
If I had it to do over, things would be much different.

So true. As you grow older and wiser, you unfortuantely lose the physical side of youth. If you could be both youthful and wise, you would be way ahead and never make so many of the mistakes along the way.
