if i had a computer with a dsl modem in it cuz i had dsl at my house, could i take that computer over to my friends house, plug it into his phone jack, and get dsl over at his house or do i have to use my phone jack?

i didn't know that dsl was subcribed through your phone line. i thought it only had to do with your internet provider.

No it cant be done theres a physical connection that is based on your phone line. If your friend is nearby your place you might want to buy a wifi connection instead to connect to your DSL at home.

first of all, you dont have a dsl modem installed on your computer, you probably had a network adaptor installed on your pc, your modem is still at home plugged into a phone jack somewhere. secondly, it would not work at your friends house because you need to subscribe to dsl service through your phone service, which your friend obviously has not done.

if yur frend haas registered 4 a DSL n pays 4 it regularly of course then sure this applies only for an account service but 4 an acountless service u cant use net 4 except yurs and only yurs phone line.

If he had DSL, you could plug in an ethernet cable into your computer, go through the steps to get the connection to work, and then you're set to go.

no. the dsl is assigned to your phone number. Its not going to work anywhere but your house.
