One of my friends is an emo and I totally respect that; but what I don't understand is why this generation is mad about the emo scene! Most emo's are depressed, sad and don't socialise with others who aren't emo's themselves. I also feel they lack a lot of self confidence because they don't try and mix around with others.. they're just in their own little world. Although I must say that some of their fashion statements are pretty cool with a touch of rhetro ;)
So what are your views on it? Do you think emo's should be credited?

I think the world is filled with more emos each passing day right down to my best knowledge in Singapore, Australia, America and so on so forth. I think, as a society, we need to understand why they fall in this category of society. They may be going through really suffering pressure the world gave to them and might be confused of what to feel towards such certain things therefore they seeked to being emo. Of course such society groups have certain fashion to their own beliefs. Tell me which doesn't? And I must also say, they do dress well but sometimes they scare off my little cousins which are afraid of black. Children should not be exposed to black too much in their childhood years.

I think the question here is not emo being credited. There should be no question at all, indeed. It's just a phase or a chapter of their life which they find it very hard to turn to anyone else. They will all eventually mature and be who they are going to be when they are older. I have faith in them. Cos after all, they have gone through the hardest path of their life.

For some, this is the only way they can call attention to themselves. Ever heard of the kid that acts bad, just so he/she can get some kind of attention from their parents? Emo's are a drag to be around, and the Drama Queen stuff gets old really fast. As far as I'm concerned, don't give them any attention, and when they find this doesn't work, they will grow up and move on with their lives.

Probably because there are too many neat things to have and if you don't have it your not hip. Kids are all about what can I have now. Not what do I have that I can enjoy. If they are EMO then the problem lies in family values. They have been given everything in life they wanted, until now. They have found something they want, but can't have.

Solution: Get a job or stop wanting what you can't have. Enjoy what you do have.

Non entitiy is right.

If this country was Buddhist and people cared or lived more in a "all for one and one for all" mentality intead of "every man for himself" mentality - I SERIOUSLY doubt that this many kids would be emo.

emo's short for emotional are just that they lack it indefinitely i think it is majorly a generational thing, i think nothing excites them anymore and there is nothing for them to get emotional about due to low self esteem, wanting to be different or just plain want to be popular with their individuality. let them be how they wanna be id say, maybe take them sky diving or on a roller coaster that should get there emotions going.
