Hardheaded kids are generally short-term thinkers. They think about what's in front of them at the moment. Therefore you need to develop an approach that appeals to their way of thinking. Daily verbal reminders of love help them to get it through their heads that what you are doing is based in love for them. After that you can develop a system of rewarding good behavior and witholding the things that they want when they act out. This will constantly put them in the position of making appropriate choices.

Dear Che,

Befriend with the hardheaded child. Tell him that you are his 'best friend' and can help him in fulfilling his desires. If you prove this them then take it guaranteed that the child will love you. Yes, this a bit difficult too.

Take away privelages. something they enjoy video games, tv, favorite toys and then let them know they won't get them back until they have quit misbehaving. Depending on their age a good time out may be necessary, but if they are a little older taking away things is the best bet.
