I won't judge you. The first guy is right though it think an hour for each drink. Wine coolers are pretty mild so 2 hours after you had those wine coolers you should be okay. If you were drunk then i would pump and dump but it takes a lot of wine coolers to get drunk more than 2. I don't know the source but a question like this was asked once before and the alcohol does get processed by your body and it's not the same as giving the baby alcohol. I drank when i was breastfeeding a lot of people do. Kelly Rippa on Live with Regis and Kelly has even mentioned pumping and dumping before and i bet if you ask your doctor they will say that a few drinks is okay if you just wait a few hours to feed the baby. IF you drank 9 hours ago you are good now.

Actually 2 wine coolers is probably fine for you to breastfeed immediately. american academy of pediatrics states an occassional 1-2 glasses of alcohol is FINE at any time for a b-feeding mom. However, if you want to make sure your baby gets NO alcohol, you must think about the alcohol concentration in your blood - when the alcohol leaves your blood, it leaves your breastmilk - there is no lasting, lingering of alcohol in the breastmilk. So, there is NO reason to pump and dump, unless your concerned about keeping your milk supply up. How long it takes for the alcohol to leave your system is variable, based on your weight, whether or not you ate or had an empty stomach etc...but, the general principle is 2 hours for every drink starting from when your FIRST began drinking the drink. So, if you had 2 beers starting at 8pm, you should be fine by midnight. But, like I said, everyone is slightly different. For me, it is about 2 1/2 hours if I am on an empty stomach because I only way 130. Just depends on your weight. Hope this helps. I actually researched this myself, so I am 100% sure. People run their mouths about stuff, but they havent actually researched it - but, I've done this for myself, so I promise it is accurate.

If you've had 1-2 regular size drinks, you can nurse immediately. Yes, the baby may get a bit of alcohol, but the quantity is very small.
If you've had more than that, as soon as you feel "neurologically normal" it is safe to nurse.
And you *never* need to "pump and dump" after drinking alcohol. When the alcohol leaves your body, it *leaves* your body. Unless you have removed your breasts (you haven't, right?), they're still part of your body!
Unless each of those wine coolers was a gallon jug, 9 hours is more than enough time.

I have posted an answer similar to this before and you will find an unbiased answer on Jack Newman's website.
In a nutshell, if your blood alcohol is 0.8%, then this is how much is going from breastmilk to baby. That's less than a de-alcoholized beer, very small amount. The biggest concern about drinking is whether or not you can care for your baby. If that is taken care of, I wouldnt' worry about "pump and dump". Breastmilk, even with tiny amounts of alcohol, is still healthier, safer, and more nutritious for your baby than formula.

You could always use formula until you feel sure that the alcohol has left your system. I'd wait 24 hours.

Never drink any time that you are nursing. It passes through the breastmilk even after 9 hours. Doctors recommend to not drink.

you should be good to go. I would allow two hours per drink to allow the alcohol to leave your system. although you can speed this up a bit by drinking lots of water.

If you have any breast milk stored, I would use that instead. You should pump your breasts and pour out the milk from last night. It might still contain alcohol or other unhealthy chemicals.
