Having a couple sleep in the same room as your 2 girls ages 7&6; or taking a shower with your own child of the same sex above the age of 4?

I need to know cause a judge says that it is okay for a couple to sleep in the same room as the 2 children but it is not okay for the shower issue.

Probably the couple sleeping in the same room as the two girls, is worse. The kids might overhear things that they would be confused by and shouldn't be hearing. A parent taking a shower with a child of the SAME SEX is okay, I suppose. It's just nudity, with the same "parts," after all.

Since u said that this has to do with a judge, I'll give you a good one. This is your own child that u had a shower with, there should'nt be a problem. This is also a girl. Unless this is a step mother, Or the people in the shower are the dad and the duaghter or the Mother and the son. The duagters sleepin in the same room is also not a problem. I slept in my parents room when I ever had nigtmares. If u have a second room, put them in there. I just don't understand the fact why your dealin with a judge for either on of these.

The second is worse. The first one is not so bad if the couple do not have sex in the same room when the girls are present and none of you sleep nacked. You know both are not ok but you still want to know the degree of unacceptability in norms.

Heavens! Has it come to this? When my sister and I were little, we shared a room and it also had a guest bed in it. My grandparents slept there when they were visiting. Sissie and I took baths together and showers with our mom all the time...she had to keep an eye on us all the time. What is your problem with either of these things?

There are negative reactions to everything we do. Karma is real and it will sneak up on you when you least expect it. The answer to your question should be look at yourself in the mirror and decide how your children should be treated and what they will grow up to be. If you think that either of these are "ok" then you might need a mental check.

the problem with bringing babies and young children into a couple's bedroom or bed is that they will have very hard time putting the child back in his or her own room to sleep. mom & dad's bed/room quickly become a security blanket for kids, a hard habit to break.

as for bathing together, i bathed with my kids until they were almost five. we used to have fun playing with their toys and singing songs in the tub while washing up. we are a very normal and loving family. if you don't freak out about being in the nude for something as natural as bathing, your kids won't either.

I am not sure if you intended to come across as sick or not, but you did.
By the way, my daughter is 5 1/2, and she'll jump into the shower with me if she feels like it.
It's your job to trust your instinct on what's right or wrong. You're the parent

Trust your instincts... but in Finland, the common practice is for the whole family to have saunas together until the oldest child is 7 yrs, then the boys/men and girls/women have saunas seperately... which isn't seen as sick, but as normal.
