Well, this is only a "reasonable answer", as I never had a "hot tub".
If you put too much in, then you reach saturation point, and the rest of the salt will just clog up the pumps or what ever it is that powers the jets, (It would be a gritty substance and thus wear out any mechanical parts quicker, like sand running through blades would do. It would pit material, whether plastic or metal from the grit).
But, if you were to take the epsom salt, and put it in a bucket, then take some water from your spa, and mix it in, stirring slowly, then pour off the clear liquid..(ok, maybe its cloudy liquid, eh?), and that was all there was, was liquid and not grit, then I would repeat the process, until you hit the saturation point, where no more crystals would dissolve from the water you take out and pour back in to your tub, then I would "assume" that you would be safe....
But, like I say, this is only a "reasonable answer".
Its not meant to be the "last word" on anything and I would do as the one post suggest, check with the manufactorer of your spa, to see if this would not void the warranty.
What I hear of them, they are high maintanace, having to get the PH right, and other chemical inbalances just perfect, to even use that silly thing...
I wish you well..

Yes, but you can use it pure, you have to prepare a Bath Salt, here is how you do it:
Base Salt Recipe #1
For every pound of salt add 1/2 pound of Epson Salt
Base Salt Recipe #2
For every pound of salt add 1/4 pound of Epson Salt and 1/4 pound of Baking Soda
Preparation Base Salt Recipe:
Pour the Base Salt into a Ziploc bag and shake well to mix and stir the ingredients.
Bath Salt Recipe
1 mix of Base salt recipe #1 or #2
Cosmetic Safe Dye or Pigment (As Desired)
1 Teaspoon of Cosmetic Safe Fragrance Oil
1 Teaspoon glycerin or vitamin E oil (Optional)
a) Pour the Base salt into a large glass, metal container or ziploc bag .
b) Add a cosmetic safe dye or pigment to the salt and stir well. (Salt should be dry to the touch after you stir it)
c) Add the fragrance oil, drop by drop and stir well.
d) Optional: add the glycerin or vitamin E oil and stir well
d) Store the bath mix in glass containers and seal
How to use it
Add from 2 tablespoons to one-half cup of the bath salts to a full tub. Mix with your hands into the water.
Relax and enjoy.
If you still want to use pure Epson-salt, then sprinkle the water with no more than 1 tablespoon.

It will definitely clog up the mechanical parts. Already did this. Not advisable.
