I dont have any pets, but I use to have cats. I've steam clead, bombed, even powdered the carpet. I still can't get rid of the fleas, what can I do?

I used Zodiac spray - not the bomb, and it worked fantastic. One application and they were gone for several months. But it is a chemical.

Then I learned what the professionals use when they charge several hundred dollars: 20 Mule Team Borax. Yep,they sprinkle it all around and it dries out the fleas. Then you vacuum really well and you are done.

REMEDY TO KILL FLEAS ON YOUR DOG OR CAT--mix Halls mentholyptus cough drops and water in a spray bottle to treat your dog or cat. Try using 3 or 4 cough drops to 25 to 35 fl oz of water. The cough drops contain eucalyptus oil and glucose syrup, and have a long shelf life and long lasting killing power. This remedy can also be used to kill fleas on carpet and pet bedding.Be sure and test small area of carpet first to make sure it does not stain. A great repelent

Homemade flea trap --
Place a shallow pan of water with a little dish detergent (acts as a wetting agent which breaks water surface tension) on the floor. Position a gooseneck lamp with the light on about five to six inches above the liquid surface. Adults will leap toward the light at night.

How to control flees--
It is important for you to vacuum the carpets, furniture, and your dogs bedding everyday. Place the cut-off end of a flea collar, or a moth crystal, into your vacuum cleaner bag to kill any vacuumed adult fleas. Vacuum the dog if he will let you! Groom him daily with a flea comb. Do not be surprised if you occasionally find a flea on him. He will bring them in from outside.
Be sure not to keep your dog or cat outside during your flea infestation. It does take a couple of weeks to rid your house of the fleas and stop the cycle .
