Treated, common cold goes away in a week. Untreated, it lasts for seven days.
There is no known cure for common cold.
Antihistamines only help cure the symptoms, not the cold. It will stop the runny nose. But some times it aggravates condition.
None of the medications / remedies mentioned here by other people have not been scientifically tested and proved . They may have a placebo effect, though. (When you see a doctor or when the doctor prescribes even some dummy drugs one gets a psychological satisfaction and this helps cure the disease. This is called a placebo).
If you worry too much about getting better before the interview you are producing stress and that will aggravate the condition. Relax.
Lot of rest helps.
Get well soon.

True! Water, water and water can help. If you're not afraid of eating raw egg, I have a recipe. Yolk (raw), ginger powder, milk and honey. Mix together and put in the microwave for about 2.5 to 3 minutes (Be careful when putting it in the microwave. If you have too much, it'll spill). I hope it helps!

Lots of rest, Vitamin C supplement and a bowl of Chicken Noodle soup four times a day.
It won't kill the cold, but it will moderately to dramatically reduce how long you will be sick.

My parents used to give us honey ( a tsp) tea (a cup) and whiskey (one shot) and mix it all together and put us in bed, wrapped in covers. It worked, we used to feel TONS better the next day. I still use it sometimes, just not on my kids.

take aspirin with a glass of orange juice and don't take anything that doesn't allow you to have a runny nose unless you have to go somewhere where you don't want people to see that. Let it run and blow your nose often to get it out of your system quicker. Don't take Nyquil it will make you worse cuz it doesn't let you get it out.
