its good to do small talk at first, show ure not a mute but dont get too into a subject until ya feel the other person out. once you get comfortable as long as ya let the other person talk also than any amount should be ok

Listening is very important because you learn alot this way.....no matter if its about personal affairs or public, if your a good listener then people will be drawn to you....
Talking is also good.... no matter is its personal or public, people like to know whats going on in your life or what kind of information that you know that they don't....
Most of all, no matter ehat the situation, be a good listener and a good talker......and always be possitive because thats what draws attention to you and makes people want to listen to you and talk to you....

Only talking long enough to get the point across. To speak and to speak well are two things. I find the older I get, the more I listen to people who don't talk much (it's easier on my lack of patience).
