Read more great books!

Yes, I would miss both the TV and the computer. They are wonderful inventions but they can monopolize our time and have us forgetting about things that are important, like family, friends, etc.

I would not miss the TV one bit. It would be the computer I'd have a hard time going without. I guess I would end up reading for pleasure more often and spending more time outside. I've already started trying to do this a little more often by cutting down the amount of time I spend on the computer, which is hard to do when you are a student. I think we really should go back to basics more. We aren't spending as much time with our loved ones and when we do, it's because we've TiVo-ed a bunch of shows that were on while we were watching OTHER shows, so we all sit on the couch and watch MORE TV. Your question is a very loaded one, but a great one! I think somehow, we would all manage to survive and maybe be somewhat better off! What happened to the simple life? (and I'm not talking about paris hilton's tv show....)

When computers and televisions disappear forever out of our lives and I'd have to go back to basics I'd listen to the radio and read, read, read. I'd also be more physically active.

Assuming telephones and cell phones went by the wayside as well I'd return to writing letters and probably look for a pen pal or two.

We'd probably all be better off... yes I realize I say this as I sit at my computer. Which is the point. I could be sleeping, at 4 am... or looking at one of my kids sleeping (theyre at their best asleep)... or rubbing the husbands back or doing something useful like the dishes, solving the world hunger issue... but instead I sit here answering pointless (but nonetheless entertaining) questions.
Im lost without my cell phone for a trip to the grocery store. The tv I could almost get over, but then who would entertain the kids? And, well obviously Im not attached to the computer...
We're spoiled! And dammit I love it :/

I would read more, educate myself on the land. Learn to cook, Yikes that might take me a decade. I would be more crafty and recycle more, or most everything. Miss tv. no, I don't watch it. Computer, would miss it, but couldn't get it back if it just went "poof".

i gew up in the days of the brady bunch and partridge family - we did not have home computers nor video games and i was always entertaining myself with my skating club and or horses and gymnastics. it does not bother me to get back to basics. i still bake my own bread and made from scratch meals i use a wood stove for cooking and we use oil lanterns as well. i loved the good ole days and my mayberry mountain top town ( pop 604 ). people in today's society need to relax and take life as it is dealt to them - everything/ everyone has it's place and soon will find it.
