Yes its just that Casualty is just that the A and E Dept and Holby City is set on a ward within the hospital.

Yes and it is in the same fictional area Holby, of Bristol (a real city), Holby City was a spin-off as Casualty started earlier. But any large general hospital will have an Accident and Emergency Department, which is a separate entrance and largely an autonomous and self-contained unit within it.

Yes there are based in the same hospital. Which is how you could see Claire Goose in Holby City's first season in both shows in a two part storyline from A&E in Casuality to the Ward of Holby City

yeah they are in the same hospital, it's just that casualty is the Accident and Emergency Department.
Whereas Holby City is set on the Surgical Department and AAU- Acute Admission's Unit (they also used to do Maternity until last year.)
