People really don't change. I would guess he tried to change, but is now who he really is and can't fight it anymore. You may need to let go and realize that it's now your choice to take care of yourself and family and move on. You can't change someone else no matter how much you love them or even if they love you. Been there, done that.

Seed counseling and help for you! You can't worry about him right now since he is refusing help and not wanting to work on the marriage. It is your choice and place however to get help for you to help you through this mess and to change whatever needs to be changed in you. You cannot change your spouse but with help and prayer you can change yourself. I recommend the book the Power of a praying wife by Stormie Omartin. Also there is a great website at http://www.marriagetoday.org with Jimmy and Karen Evans. Very helpful website indeed! I am here if you ever need to talk!

He won't stop unless he wants to and you don't want to be around when he goes over the edge. You may remind him that the feelings that he is dealing with about his mother are the feelings his kids are going to go through with him. He needs prof. help and has to be willing to get it, you can't force it on him. Don't endanger your children by staying with someone who can't help themselves. Good Luck

try an intervention let him know there is help and if he agrees to get it he would have to go that second, if he says no there is not much more you can do other than move on with your life, he has to want to get help for his addiction

Move to a safer place for you and your kids. Then get help for him and for you and your kids as well. Intervention can be sought from counselors, pastors, support groups, etc. And pray for God's healing.

Why would you want to be with someone that doesn't want to be with you? Move on.
