Like you could ever boycott t.v... esp with the world cup on. For the next month between the friggin' computer and the t.v. I will never see you!
Let me guess, your boycott allows SBS as it isn't a commercial station... hmmmm?

Well I see what you mean. Tv programs here in uk are sponsored by products. It is annoying and I think it should stop but if it did then where woukd they get the money to keep them running? They sometimes have a high budget and if they run out of money the show goes down the drain.
Basically I cannot join you in this noble quest. I would find it too hard. My family all watch TV. Maybe you can sell the TV and buy something else to do.

I have already had deactivated sattelite for months now. Our kids get out and do more becasue of it. If they have a craving there are free episodes of some of their shows on the net commercial free and I would rather then interact than just sit there. We do watch movies and I am not like adamantly opposed to tv but there is alot of trendy reality show junkies out there.

i live in germany and haven't seen american tv in three years. i don't have the tv hooked up to view the few german stations i get. i usually only watch movies. i think the ban is a good idea. tv sucks. there's nothing really good on anyway. i don't feel like i've missed much.

Sell your TV's and don't use the internet. Then I'll believe you.
Oh, and I haven't watched "television" in my house in over 4 years. I just have a DVD collection.

I'm with you! We don't have a tv and never have... have you ever noticed that in about EVERY ad (say, an ad for toothpaste) there's always half-naked girls and men in suits. What does that have to do with toothpaste?? It was actually my philosophy teacher that pointed this out to me first... he's a feminist... ;-)

I think that's a great idea. In order to make their billions of dollars and pay their "stars" $1mil per episode, television programs are obligated to see to it that their sponsors are seen and/or heard. It is becoming ridiculous.
