The two are almost totally unconnected.

Science is a method of investigation of the physical world based on formal logic as applied to objective evidence. Science has only existed for 250 years at most.

Technology is application of physical materials to human needs. Technology has existed since before the human species evolved. Any application of physical materials to human needs is technology, so a spear or a straw hut is just as much technology as an MP3 player. Homo habilis had a technology, stone age people had a technology, the ancient Egyptians had a technology and so forth. Noneof those people had any sort of science.

Technology in the last 50 years has often become confused with science because science has increased the ways that we can utilise materials for our needs.

But science and technology are largely unrelated fields. Science is an investigative process designed to uncover facts. Technology is an application of knowledge to allow us to do what we want.

Technology is the means to accomplish tasks..like inventions, electricity, engines, hair dryers, usually things which improve the human condition..some technology is just discovered....like using fire to cook...
Science comes in three main categories....Physical Science(matter, energy, force, motion ect.) Life Science(plants, animals, heredity, environmental, biological ect) Earth/Space Science (earth structures, atmospheric processes, water cycles, solar systems ect).
