I've been in Iraq for 10 months, no days off. I go on leave in early July. I'm 22, single, and I'm in good shape with money to burn. I'm trying do decide between going to Germany, seeing world cup semis/finals and seing the sights, or going home to the family. Germany will be a lot of fun, but expensive and crowded, and I get rowdy when I drink.... and at home I'd be able to relax, but I might get bored in my small one-horse town! I don't know what to do! ADVICE!!!!!!!

really though, 10 months of getting shot at, and mortared, and 140 degree heat, means I need more than 1-2 days of fun. Yeah, I want a couple of slow days, but I want to be partied out at the end of 2 weeks.

Home and a city elsewhere in your area (another state, here in the US, or a nearby country elsewhere). Relax, recharge your batteries, see the family, catch up, and then plan on hitting a city that sounds interesting or intriguing.

This'll allow you some memorable times of that money to burn along with also giving your family some peace of mind and letting you relax a little.

Go home, dude. You can get some friends to go out with you one or two nights.
