Iran as stated above is a loose cannon in the world, that would more than likely use such weapons against Israel.

With such power comes responsibility. Clearly Iran does not have the responsibility to be allowed to hold such an arsenal.

France may disagree with US on many issues, but they are no threat to world security. In fact them and the US work together on many issues throughout the world, including sharing information on terror cells etc.

First of all, the USA is among several countries that have nuclear weapons. The difference is that all nations the possess this power have announced it to the world and not tried to secretly gain it. All the nations of the world who have nuclear capabilities are also secular. Iran is run by an extreme religious faction that would use this power to "convert" others to their religion. AND having a country with nuclear power in that region of the world could completely disrupt the world economy. Iran, if they gained this power could "high-jack" the world by controlling the world's oil supply. YES! sometimes it is about OIL!

You need to pay attention to world politics a little more, along with several of the folks that replied to your less than intelligent question. It is not smart to arm a country with nuclear weapons that is willing to use them against our allies and the U.S. You need to, as do the others that replied needs to, learn the facts about the countries and foreign policies that you are talking about. Many of you don't have a clue. Yes the U.S is powerful, because we are a free market, capitalist nation that needs to protect the interest of Americans. It is very unlikely for our President or Congress to launch nukes, but a country like Iran, Iraq, China etc.. are willing to use those weapons, we have the weapons in the hopes that we will never need to use them, it is a determent factor. Get your facts straight, all of you( except the few that responded that do understand the politics). Think about this, in 1989 Israel bombed Saddams nuclear reactor, had they not done that do you think he would have had and probably used nukes against the U.S or our allies. Now remember that he had no problem murdering hundreds of thousands of his own people using biological agents. Is that someone you would want armed to the teeth. The answer is no unless your an idiot. It has nothing to do with being a "bullie" or the world police, it is common sense.
