Actually no. There is no scientific method yet that allows you to chose the sex of your baby. And actually the mans sperm holds the X or Y chromosomes that produce either a male of female egg, some men can only produce girls and some only boys, it is rare, but true. You just have to hope for a healthy child, no matter what the sex is.

My husband and I tried for a girl and had a girl. I'll tell you how we did it and then explian what I read about having a boy.
For the girl we had sex about 3 days before I ovulated. It worked and I was amazed. Just dumb luck probably.
We'll start trying for a boy next month. I'll try to time sex to the day of ovulation or 3 days after ovulation.
If we have another girl, it's great because we already have all girl stuff.
If we have a boy, it's perfect because we'll have one of each.

the y cromosom only lives for 24 hours/ 1 day so if you want a boy, conception must occur at the most fertile point. Whereas, the X cromosom can live up to 3 days so, conception for a baby girl can happed anytime in between.
Try the mucus method... of family planning to identfy most fertile period.

No. You *can* however, increase your chance using the Shettles method (see sources section below). Since there's only a 75-90% of getting what you want, you should only use it if you will be thrilled to have a baby of either sex. To have the *best* chance of getting what you want, don't rely on the Web site--read the book.
