If you have a freezer, buy meat in larger quantities - the shops often price it less when it is in bulk. When you get the meat home, separate everything into single portions, put into Ziploc bags and stack neatly in the freezer.
Also check out the 'reduced price' meat at your grocery. This is normally meat that is to be eaten within the next 1 or 2 days if you only keep it refrigerated, but if you put it in the freezer it can last a lot longer and save you a TON of money.

Have a jar or a large container to put your change into every time you make a purchase, or have some change in your pocket or purse. You'll be surprised how fast it will add up. You can save as much as $300 in a few months.
Learn to shop at thrift stores; stop buying fast foods and make yourself fresh home made goodies (maybe you can sell some of those). If you have friends who are about your size, you can trade clothes/shoes to keep your wardrobes fresh. Don't pay retail for ANYTHING ! Get a bicycle for transportation.

Far and away the best method I've found is to ask yourself, when at a store, "do I really NEED this or do I just WANT it?" Takes a little honesty with yourself, but you will be surprised how much stuff you DON'T buy!
