On an average, 80% -90% of the bosses are hated. For example, in a career span of say 35 years, if one works under 8 bosses, he will hate at least 6 out of them in some way or the other. The quantum of hatred would of course vary from case to case.
There are more than 100 reasons for having this hatred. One important reason is that everyone would always like to be his own boss.

If someone has hatred for his boss, his hidden desire will be that his boss should work as his subordinate one day or the other or surrrender to him for some reason or other. I have come across a case only yesterday when a General Manger of a large Public Sector Undertaking got immense pleasure in making a retired Director of the same PSU waiting outside his cabin for 30 minutes. The retired Director happened to be a hated boss of the General Manager few years back and has recently joined one of the suppliers of that PSU.

I use to work at a company where I hated my boss. I worked late hours, did the extra work when needed and he still treated me badly. He constantly belittled me and other employees in front of everyone. I had enough and quit. I got another job where my boss is great and treats his employees well. Best thing I did was "fire my previous boss" What I really would have liked to do was be his boss for a day and show him what it was like to have someone swear at him and treat him like he did his employees.

Anyway, now that I am a boss myself, I try to treat my staff as professionally and as humanely possible so no one would hate me.
