His overall career is still HOF material. But the injuries have tarnished his image.

He won't be elected in his first year but he will eventually make it.

With 536 Home Runs and 1,536 RBI's going in this season, the steroid-free Griffey is a certain first-ballott Hall of Famer.

He's been an All Star 12 times, won an MVP award (with four other finishes in the top 5), and won 10 gold gloves. There really aren't any players with these types of credentials who are eligible for the Hall of Fame but not in.

We know he didn't use steroids, so the only 'clouding' of his numbers involves what he WOULD have done if it wasn't for the injuries he's suffered.

But, of course, you can't really give any 'extra credit' for opportunities missed due to injury when evaluating a player's Hall of Fame chances...in the end, you have to evaluate him on what he actually accomplished...but Junior HAS accomplished a lot, and his credentials, as they are, will most likely result in a first-ballot selection.

there is no definate answer. One would think that Jim Rice woul've been a shuein for the hal of fame, but he is not. At the beginning of his career, young Ken was "the next big thing". Everyone said he would break all the records and do everything well. He would be the best player since DiMaggio or Wiliams. But he was injured. A lot. So who knows.

Yes, Yes, Yes!! Although his last 4-5 seasons have been injury plagued, Griffey was one of the most dominant players throughout the 1990s. His Seattle years alone get him in. The fact that he rejected steroids doesn't hurt either.

Of course he has his good years early on but recently he has come back to life.Big problem was with Griffy when they had the big change in the strike zone 4 or 5 years back . Griffy has a big looping swing which is a power hitters type swing for stuff down low in the strike zone .

last few years when not hurt he has begun to fix this problem .So yes he will make the hall of fame .

He is a living hall of Famer. He was the best player in baseball for many years before he got the injury bug.

Junior is an amazing all around player. With age, your body naturally breaks down and he gets injured making plays that other, younger players would never fathom. GO Junior! Go Reds!

At the moment, not by a long shot. Those injuries have hurt his chances. He may sneak in but it won't be on the first ballot.
