I am a Scorpio and have barely any of the charecteristics Scorpio's are supposed to have ......has anyone else found the same thing applies to them ....or are you like what your starsign describes you as (charecter wise ) ?

I can be a lot like my star sign (Leo) as I am marvelous, a natural leader(not pushy, people just seem to ask me for advice), I have lots of good friends who I adore as well, I like bright colours and when I choose to I can be the centre of attention. Like many Leos I have a problem with money...I like to spend it as if more were forthcoming rather than saving it. Drives my Pisces spouse NUTS!!! I do however, have many of the characteristics of my rising sign, which is Cancer. I stay close to home, I can be very protective of that home, I am very nurturing and I can be moody. Not everyone is the arch-type of their sign. Other factors are involved. You are what you are.

The general reading for starsigns is just that - general.
To find you true charecteristics you must do a complete birth chart.
This will show you all the different houses and which planet or starsign falls in the different houses.
One major factor for the general characteristics is your rising sign.
That is the planet on the horison when you where born, so you can be a Scorpio but have a Leo rising, then you'll find that most times Leo's general reading will be more accurate...
If you get the opportunity you must really do a full birth chart, it is very interesting and accurate.
I am Aquarius with a Leo rising which gives me a rather accurate description of my characteristics :-)

No. In a way, all people have a characteristic implied on them by all the star signs. It's just that if they believe in horoscopes and such, they will prominently play out the characteristic of their particular horoscope, even if they do it subconsciously.
Try this: con a really close person to you who firmly believes in Astrology that he was born on such-and-such, and not during such-and-such. Do it with his/her parents. Tell him/her the birth certificate was wrong or something. Watch the change in his attitude, characteristics, habits and such.

Actually, the various starsigns are so generalized in their descriptions that any of them can apply to aspects of pretty much anybody.
I sound a lot like my sign, and my wife's sign, and my kids signs, and the folks at works signs, too.

More than once in my life I've had someone correctly identify me as a Cancer sun-sign after a few minutes of random conversation. It happened again this weekend in Salem while I was talking to a shopkeeper about my tattoo.
I belong to an astrology club and I've learned quite a bit about myself from going to the lectures. But my first love remains Mayan/Aztec astrology, not sun-sign astrology.

well 4 me I am not a 100% believer, but I do consider few things. The only thing I believe is that Astrology is a subject and it's harder 2 deny the possible characteristics it teaches abt certain star. BUT STILL u r rite! I ain't a perfect Aquarius as well, but sometimes things happen that make me CONSIDER the facts...again just consider not BELIEVE ! =)

I'm also a Scorpio and I've noticed I have most of our sign's characteristics. If you're really into astrology, try to find out what your Rising Sign is (mine is Virgo, for example), and it might show more of the characteristics you have.

Let face it these star signs are so vague half the time the could apply to anyone. How horoscopes can be beileved is beyond me I mean how are thousands of geminis libras etc going to have the same kinda day?

yea i have a number of traits. but not all... so well i would say kind of the star sign thing works. but by far i know about this, i would say western astrology is less accurate than eastern astrology. if you doubt astrology as a whole based on your experienes, then i think u need to try out one of the easterns. i would suggest indian astrology.. cos its very ancient... based on your lunar sign... that changes every day rather than the solar (western) which changes across months.
but yes, it is not just a belief. its a science...

i am a Aquarius and have none of the charecteristics... but i am happy with who i am and i really dont give a crab about that ****. nobodys perfect but we can try to accomplish whatever we set our minds into.
