If you have been a parent for anytime at all you should know how much to send and dont forget the social, physical, and psychological help that you need to provide for your wife and daughter even if you are separated. I am currently separated as well, I send my entire check to my wife every week, she then in turn sends me back what she does not need or can part with. Remember your vows and remember that no matter what the situation is right now you two loved each other enough to conceive a child and your daughter needs her daddy, the money is nothing. Let me qoute something that helps me on a daily basis." But if anyone does not provide for his own, especially for those of his household he has denied his faith and is worse than an un-believer". Now obviously that it a quote out of the Bible but we do not need to be religious fanatics to follow some of these commom sense, basic humanity type rules. I suggests that you keep your relationship as friendly as possible even if it ends in divorce, you will all be better off, especially your innocent daughter. You need to work with your wife to come up with a feasible plan that will help her but also provide you with enough money to survive on. Notice I said survive, not prosper, your daughter and wife need that money more than you do I suspect. Dont let emotions sway or rule you, think logically and with your heart. Good luck, I hope that you and your wife can work this out, the divorce rate is high enough w/o you contributing to it.

As a woman who has never gotten paid any child support for my 2 kids who are grown now, The dic- wad didn't work and when he did it was just long enough to find him and then he was gone again. Any way I'm glad to hear you have no problem paying. A good father will pay no matter how he feels about the wife. It goes by how much money you make. And if your wife works or not. The Judge decides all of that.

My Daughters partner pays £40 per week. But he does buy his daughter shoes and clothes as well. Try to come to some arrangement with your wife. But I must say this really does depend on how much you are earning. If you have a good job then you should be paying more.

have a look on the csa web site, they have a calculator that works out how much you have to pay.
the information that it asks for is :

net weekly income.
how many kids you have
how many nights a fortnight that you have your kids
how much child income support your ex gets
and if she gets child credits.

so as a rough guide :
if you take home say £400 after tax etc a week
have your daughter 4 nights in a fortnight
your ex gets child benefits

it works out to about £248.60 a month for 2 kids

i have over paid my ex for years, now i know the amount that i should be paying when she starts getting nasty about money i no longer have sleepless nights !

pay for your daughters up keep, not your ex's lifestyle

good luck

oh, p.s. the courts cant tell you how much to pay, thats why the csa was set up. as for soliciters, have you ever seen a poor one ?? instruct one and you will find out why, try and keep it amicable as a dear old soliciter will rattle on for months getting rich off of both of you and more than likely causing more upset

She is your daughter, so you should decide then heck how much do you want your kids to have? A nice home, good food, things to enjoy! So you think about it and if you make the wrong payment you will find out that you make a mistake and will regreat it later in life!

If you are in the UK then it is 15% of your take home wage, of course you can work it out privately with your ^&%$ (sorry can't bring myself to say that word and don't want to be rude either)

Don't listen to the prat that waffles on about giving as much of your money as possible. 15% of take home, not a penny more, especially if she was the one that went off and shagged someone else, actually try and go for custody and then she'll have to give YOU 15% of HER take home pay.

Either way, ignore the prat going on about not letting you emotions getting in the way, screw her for as much as you can.

Thats assuming it was her that was in the wrong, if it was you that was in the wrong then give me her email address and I'll give HER this speech.

Try to arrange payment privately as an agreement between you and your ex... its far far easier and much less hassle than involving the CSA.. contact me direct as i know quite a bit on the subject....
