Well, humans are part of the Ape family. So it isn't a matter of belief. It's a matter of knowledge. So yes, I know that my ancestors are Apes. I'm am an Ape. My Dad is an Ape. His Dad is an Ape. We are all part of the Ape family.

If we go back 1.3 to 2.4 million years, the Ape family included a species called Homo Habilis, which is the most likely first human species to exist. These are the earliest humans to be member of the Ape family.

Evolution isn't something you believe or disbelieve in. Evolution is something you either understand or do not understand.

You believe or disbelieve in Religion. So you might believe in Creation. But you would either understand or not understand Evolution. Creation is a Religious belief. Evolution is scientific knowledge. I hope this has clarified the subject for you.

No scientist has ever said that early humans were apes.

I cannot BELIEVE the people answering this question by saying yes. Don't they teach science in schools anymore?
I had no idea that people actually thought early humans were apes!

They were NOT apes.
They looked a bit like them.
They were covered with hair and had flat head and small brains.
Apes are a relative of humans.

The early hominid fossils clearly are not the fossils of apes.
No scientist has ever claimed our early ancestors were apes.

Not only were the early ancestors of humans apes, our recent ancestors were apes and we ourselves are apes. Humans are one of five living species of great apes, along with chimps, gorillas and orangs.

I can't believe people trying to answer the question and claiming that scientist denied that humans are descended from apes. No scientists in the world has ever denied that humans are descended from apes.

We are descended from apes and we are ourselves apes.

Though man has evolved from similar looking living species, I do not believe that man evolved from monkeys or apes. If that were to be so, there should not be any more monkeys or apes left, they should all have become or transformrd into men. Even the so called out of Africa theory of primitive men migrating all over is only a conjecture, it does not satisfactorily answer the type of yellow, european or indian type men of same geological age abounding the globe at the same time.

Science claims that humans & apes share a common ancestor, not that humans are descended from apes.

It's more like: apes and humans have the same ancestors.

Our ancestors were apes and we are still apes. I am a molecular biologist who studies evolution of DNA. The respondent who said no scientist ever said we are descended from apes is incorrect.

Humans are classified as apes. So to answer your question yes we are from apes. Haha.

As for the one that said if evolution was real how come there are still lower apes here, try and learn something before you speak. It is called specation.

I'll put it this way. I believe it but not to the extent that I will reject any other idea. For now, it seems to be a plausible possibility. But we will not know for sure for a very long time. I'm not going to be bogged down, and boxed in by dogma. Therefore, I am open to other possibilities. Thats what makes science exciting and comforting to me.

I studied in St.Anthony`s school (RCM School). The science teacher (Rev.Fr.Ignatius gopu)taught in second period that man has "evolved"from apes.In the afternoon class the teacher of "Moral science" (same Rev.Fr.)used to preach that God created Adam and Eve and they sinned.
I believe in "evolution"
