A good example of outsourcing is:
A large company that occupies a large block of offices and outsources its cleaning services. This means that they don't have to employ cleaners, deal with staff issues such as sickness and holidays and their offices are cleaned to an agreed standard by an agreed time every day. The logistics of how that is achieved are then down to the cleaning company and not the large company in the office block. In a case such as this, it would probably cost more for this service than if they employed their own cleaners but they have the service without the headaches of employing the staff.
It is not always about saving money, sometimes it is just about getting a better, more reliable and efficient service.
A lot of companies who outsource services take the view that they should stick to what they know and let others do what they do best. That way everyone wins and everyone does their job to the best of their ability.
Of course, like everything it can be abused and sometimes it is just a cheaper way and not necessarily the best way of getting a job done......but if it is done properly then it can work really well.

When job is not inside the company by its own employees and got done by outside people on contract rate/piece rate it is out sourcing. It may be due to high salaries and cost cutting methods or when skills are not locally available,American companies are outsourcing due to high cost domestic labour and decreasing profitability.

Out sourcing is when you hire another company to do a job within your company. Other words you are not using any of your employees to do that work you are paying another company to.
