I am sorry is totally meaningless when you have said it a thousand times. Its the drama that unfolds in your face and body language. Look him/her straight in the eyes (one eye. Have you ever tried to look someone in both eyes at the same time - its impossible) and be truly genuine about the appology. Its what you say afterwards that makes all the difference anyway.
