i am not glad that they killed the terrorist dude because America follows the ten commandments and one of them said thou shalt not kill. but i do support the people that are fighting for America overseas because they want to preserve America.

To wildrover....due process?? Would you have advocated due process for Hitler??? Do you HONESTLY think that this "thing's" death was done at a convenient time, in order to boost President Bush's image???!!!!!A convenient time would have been before he beheaded 17 innocent people. Before he killed those 4 school children on the school bus. To the person who asked this question, I'm sorry I didn't address you first. Pardon me,please. Yes, I am glad that he is gone. Will there be another? Who knows? Even if there is another , as one of the folks on this site mentioned., that doesn't mean you give up. Otherwise, the police of any nation should not punish crimainals, since there will always be more criminals to follow.

Hmmmm, another variation on the idea of "Would you kill Hitler?"

As John Dunne said,

No man is an Island
No man stands alone
Each man's joy
Is joy to me
Each man's grief is my own

etc.

However, as Henry Hazlitt said in his book on economics, "We must never forget the invisible man."

Whether the invisible man is a tax payer or an innocent Iraqi that now has less to fear from terrorism . . . I know Hazlitt was right. And if living at the time (now it would change history and possibly do more harm than good, but I'd be tempted) I would have definitely killed Adolph!!!

I think we can learn more by "studying" terrorists... talking to them and coming to understand their attitudes, motivations, triggers, etc.

When you kill an animal and preserve it in formaldehyde, the chemicals bond to the DNA and permanently change the DNA structure, meaning there is very little you can learn about the animal's life and history through it's DNA. I think the same sort of philosophy applies to terrorists, in that we can learn a lot more about a) protection and b) prevention by having trained professionals talk to them. People are so complex and multi-faced that they're nearly impossible to understand... so we need to keep an open mind and be receptive to listening to (incarcerated) terrorists (while making sure that they never feel like lab rats, for obvious reasons).

What good does for a terrorist to die? They become a marytr to their cause.

Because we keep attacking the symptoms of the terrorism, we will never be able to solve the cause.

No! It is too convenient for me. No due process and it occurred just when Bush's popularity is dipping. People are finally starting to wake up to the scams.

Yes. He is the beheading dude. It was very important that we don't let him get away with that.
