if it happpens as soon as u on ur notebook , then Alias is right it happens many a time cuz of virus. u must check your machine for virus or stealth softwares.
But if it hapens after using notebook for sometime, and u close everything, then it means ur C drive has less space , u must remove few things from ur primary C drive, increase ur virtual memory.

If you do not start any program, it does not mean that there are no programs loaded.
Your OS eats tons of resources.
1. Boot into safe mode.
2. Be sure, you HDD has enough free space for swapping.
3. Increase your virtual memory size.
4. Launch "msconfig" and disable unneeded startup programs.
5. Reboot. Good luck!

It can be caused by the amount of RAM that you have installed in your computer. IF you have 256 MB, you will most likely get that message if you have a lot of stuff loading at the startup. You might want to go into msconfig and disable some of your startup programs that are not that important at startup.

Or you probably need to clean out your cache and history. Up on your browser click on "tools" "internet options" "delete files"...then delete history a littler lower on page and set history to about 2 days. That should clear up some memory.
Good Luck

It has something to do with your RAM. Either you invest on higher RAM or try checking if you have virus that eats up your memory.
