This may sound odd......but I am drawn to fallable people. When we all can make mistakes and recognize this about ourselves, that makes us human. We know we aren't perfect. We make bad judgements and choices from time to time. We just plain screw up. But when you see someone accept this about themselves....they've shown that they realize they are human.

The ego is an interesting thing is it not? It keeps us driven and helps us succeed......but it has proven to be a downfall for many as well. It is drawing that fine line between having confidence and realistic expectations that keeps us grounded.....and human.

Of course having compassion, empathy and forgiveness towards others mistakes is important. But why does this happen? Because we see the mistakes in ourselves.......therefore, we are quick to forgive and understand when others prove to be fallable as well.

Yes...I truly believe that our flaws are what make us human. :)

None of those are right. Actually most intelligent animals do all of those words. And the only reason that we are set apart from animals is because our minds/attributes excelerate at an exponential rate compared to theirs. Ex: most land animals are able to build some type of house, nest, whatever.... humans build also, ours can last hundreds of years. Some primates are able to use tools to find food and break shells and/or coconuts.... humans use tools to build things, take things apart, in fact there are new tools being invented all the time.

Our minds are just far more advanced, even though we come up with similar ideas.

The one thing that makes us human is our capability to reason. Only humans are known to perform this type of thought through the combination of language, consciousness and logic.

well.. the only thing i feel that sets us apart from other living beings is that we have the capacity to create civilizations..
we talk of sacrifice, greed, empathy .. and those words we have given to our emotions .. but there is no proof other living beings dont feel those things. ..

No, ridiculous. The traits that most characterize the human species are wrongful intent, self-centeredness, and short-sightedness.

There is none. Everything 'human' can be found in other animals.
