Since the cerebal cortex is required to feel pain, and the head is where the cerebal cortex is located, the body must not feel pain; the head must be saying, in agony, "I just got my head cut off"--what do you think?

Ive never been decapited, but dont think there would be much pain, since all your of your body`s nerves have to connect to the spinal cord in order to travel to the brain.and severing a head would require severing the spinal cord,so not many nerve messages can reach the brain, your head can only sense whats giong on from the piont of separation from the rest of your body.you may very well realize your head was removed, but you wont have very long to dwell on it.

No, there woule be no pain. Pain goes BOTH WAYS through the spinal column, and since the spinal column is severed, there would be no pain at all. However, shock would set in immediately anyway.
