my cherry seems to be healthy. it is 4 or 5 years old and gets lots of cherries. the ony problem is the fruit starts to turn red then stays hard. the fruit then either becomes brown and drops or just drops off the tree. the dropped fruit is still hard and not ripe. The birds won't even eat the fruit. Can you tell me why this happens?

I first thought that the sandy soil may not have the right nutrients-- then I thought-- what nutrient is missing?--

If you have a good library near at hand-- or for that matter google-- there are scads of gardening/tree/fruit websites out there. If none of that works----

I think a call to your local ag university extension service is in order.
