im wondering becuz i was diagnosed with a kidney infection last week.. and all last month i had unprotected sex.. i am exactly a week late for my period. the day before i was diagnosed with the kidney infection i bled for less then a couple hours and after doing some reasearch i was wondering if maybe that could have been implantation bleeding or if was becuz of the infection. anways.. i was juss curious as to whether it was common for antibiotics to cause your period to be late.. and i should wait it out.. or if i should get a pregnancy test? i've had a few symptoms like my nipples feeling tingly.. but thats only been happening when i take a shower and ive been crazy tired lately.. which i could understand since the infection.. anyways.. any help would be appreciated thanks for the help!!

Yep...sounds like you may be preggers. Tingly nipples and being very tired all the time are both symptoms. I would definately take a test!! Esp before you continue the antibiotics. Chances are if you are indeed preggo, then you arent far enough along for the meds to to be an issue, but its better to be safe than sorry...esp when the health of the baby is at stake!

Now, I do know that if yoiu have sex a lot after a long period of vaginal rest, that can cause UTI's (experience in that area), but I have never heard of antibiotics causing late periods. BUT they do kill the effects of birth contol pills. So if you arent pg, yet...be careful...b/c you could end up that way!

Good Luck!

Antibiotics can counter-act the birth control pill. So if you are late I would get a test. Especially since you had unprotected sex. Kidney infections shouldn't make you bleed out of your vagina. I am a pro at antibiotics because of frequent bladder infections. I think you are probably pregnant.... Again: Get a test and good luck!

Take a pregnancy test to be sure. I haven't heard of antibiotics making your period late, but I have heard that taking antibiotics can cause birth control pills not to be effective if you are taking them....

It's common for antibiotics to make birth control NOT work so you might want to take the test just in case.

It could happen, so could a kidney infection, or you could have just had a really light period. wait it out, antibiotics and an infection will screw up a pregnancy test anyway. AND NEXT TIME YOU HAVE SEX, USE A CONDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they can cause your period to be late but you should take a test, because you may be pregnant, it does kinda sound like ur pregnant but it could also be side effects from the antibiotics
