This year we have some extremily strange catnip plants growing. They smell like catnip, and closeley resemble it.. but they seem to of merged with something else, possibly an unknown plant that we may of pulled out earlier in the season. The leaves are like the regular catnip plant, but are much more dark and shiny. It definately merged with something..

We dont use fertilizer on the plants because its for my cats. At first I thought it was miracle grow or something but nobody uses any of that stuff near the plants in the backyard. The cats need healthy natural plants.

It is doubtful that it "merged" with another plant. More than likely the plants got some extra fertilizer and extra water at some point and you simply have a better crop as a result. Enjoy your new find.

There are plenty of natural fertilizers out there. Even Miracle Gro is made from natural ingredients.
