I absolutely love Patrick McManus. I think his best is probably "The Night The Bear Ate Goombaw" . He has the funniest stories and such a way of presenting them. I have had to stop and compose myself before I can resume reading the story. I keep two copies of each of his books....one to lend and one for my personal collection. I have read each of his books at least twice. If I'm depressed, I pick up one of his books and I am soon in a much better frame of mind. I would highly recommend any of his books!

It would have to be Call of the Wild by Jack London. It's been many years since I read it, but I have never been affected by a book so much since then.

A prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving..
The book had me bursting out in laughter , crying silent tears... and captured my interested from the first chapter. When I was done reading it I wished I could continue reading it..
And now I wish I could read it again for the first time. I will read it again, but it will not be the first time... first times are special :-)
