The Queen is a symbol of people value. She is a part of our heritage as well as a symbol of loyalty to each other. She represents our freedoms and rights. Without her countries like Canada would become more like USA in political agendas. The President of the USA is also Commander and Chief which means full control over military. Where as in Canada, the Prime Minister is just that and the Governor General of the Queen is the Commander and Chief. Prime Minister has control over our military budgets but, the Governor General has control over deployment.

Yes, we need the queen to ribbon cutting as the head of state for the Canadian political system. If we don't have the queen to do this, then we will have to get someone else to do the ribbon cutting stuff for us.
The queen is also responsible for giving royal accent to pieces of legislation before it can become law.

No. Basically she's there for traditional purposes. The royal family doesn't really do anything in government and is basically there for publicity. Also, they are really rich and have some influence. Other than that, there is no use for the title of queen and king anymore.

The monarch is only a figurehead.Has no power Yet the ruler has vast inherit power.Regardless to political persuation of the appionted government the ruler remains head of state.Perhaps the greatest power the crown has is the power it denies to people who would want this power for themselves The monarch is constitutional head of everything,gov'nt,law church,state,the armed forces.etc,etc Every facet of power is in the crown
