It's sufficient for regular writing and school. However, I type at around 80 words per minute, and I think the average should be around 50-60 words per minute. If you wanted to be a secretary, you should learn to type faster. I suggest using a typing program like Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing (search it up on Yahoo!), because it'll eventually save you tons of time and it's pretty cheap (or maybe you can find it for free). Otherwise, you could chat on MSN or Yahoo! Messenger a lot, but then you could cheat by looking at the keyboard all the time.

Well (I'm this account's person's son) I'm a thirteen-year old and I type at an average of 64 WPM, but to answer your question, here are the facts (this is what I've gathered on several websites, .gov). The average adult male types an average of 46 WPM. And that's the only fact I got to give you actually... It depends on your age. Most of my friends (while still attempting to learn the homerow) can type only less than 30. If you are 7th grade or lower you would be average with the only using your index finger thingy, but you gotta start using the homerow, something some people just don't seem to get. But yea, just keep working on it! :)

As a legal specialist in the Army National Guard, I was required to type a minimum of 45 wpm. Unless things have changed in 20 years, that's still the requirement for government service. I actually type 57 wpm. And any references to typing speed always infer an error-free total. Some folks will say, "I can type 100 wpm, error free." Of course you can...or it wouldn't be 100 "words" per minute. It would be error-ridden gobbledygook.

Sufficient for the clerical occupation, probably not, but for the recreational typist, 20-25 words per minute will do. I type between 80 and 90 wpm when I am typing from a written document, and slower, of course, off the top of my head.

If you are timed at 25 wpm, that should be sufficient for a job. When I took the test to be a 911 dispatcher, I had to prove that I could type 40 ... after errors, I wound up with like 55.

80 words per minute, error free. Here's a good website to go to to improve your typing speed...typingtest.com. And, here's a tip to help with typing fast...put on some good music with a good, steady drumbeat...get into the music and you will not only build your speed, you will enjoy typing.

I am a professional developer with Microsoft, and have about 10 years of experience in the field of Computer Engineering. Most problems with PC's are the result of malicious software that infected a Computer. Examples of this are things such as malware, viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, root kits, and worms. In other cases, they are the result of stability issues due to crashes, freezes, or Hardware Issues. Some examples of hardware issues could be a dirty cooling fan causing the computer to overheat, or low memory due to lack of RAM, which could cause the PC to run slowly. You may think it could be a virus, or malware, or registry issues, but it could be something else entirely. As a computer layman, one may find it hard to really ascertain what exactly is causing the problems, without having a professional do an in depth analysis of your PC.
As professional computer repairs can be quite costly, I would recommend to you a Software that many of us in the tech department here at Microsoft use personally and professionally to diagnose and repair computer problems very quickly. It is a software called Reimage, from https://reimagefix.im .. In my personal experience, and in the experience of many of my associates, this is probably the best software ever created for those experiencing computer troubles. This is likely to remedy just about ANY problem your computer could possibly be having, and have it running like new. Reimage has won several awards, and been featured in publications such as PC Mag.
