They are both like the same thing. I think a redneck is more like a hillbilly, you know lives in a trailer, drinks cheap beer all the time, drives mostly American cars like Ford or GM and drives a messed up looking pick up truck. Loves country music and Lynrd Skynrd. Hangs a confederate flag in his garage and always has a bunch of crap in his yard. Not real bright. Typically a racist but for the most part an OK human being just living a different kind of lifestyle.

White Trash to me can be anybody. People have called me white trash because I don't posses a college university degree, I make less than 30, 000 a year, etc.. To many, especially the rich and elite, that's white trash. I have known people I would consider white trash who smoke drugs and crack. Have illegitimate children. Don't want to get a job. Live off of other people. You can come from a rich family and still be white trash. White trash is sort of a racist term but its any white person who has no desire to contribute to society.

I would say white trash is just that a bum that doesn't want to get a job and stuff like that. Now on the other hand I would consider myself a redneck. I make an living as a blue collar worker on diesel trucks, I like country music, hunting, fishing, camping, big trucks for going off road. I am very patriotic and will do anything to help out a friend in need, provided there is a case of beer as payment.

White trash and redneck is the same thing. Redneck is just a little nicer way of saying white trash.

The term "redneck" came about from the people who farmed the land under the hot sun and their necks became sunburned. Rednecks work hard and support their families. Trash, no matter the color, don't take care of themselves or their family and have poor values and loose morals. I'd be proud to be a redneck.

Rednecks know they are rednecks and Jeff Foxworthey has made all the definitions.

White trash don't seem to know they're white trash and feel that everyone else in their lives are.

A redneck is somewhat accepted, white trash is a recovering redneck. Neither of them, but can be good friends.

To me, a redneck is the general term for caucasians, in general. While a white trash is a low-life, pot-smoking, heroin-shooting, welfare liner-upper, animal- and incest-doing redneck that does nothing all day except doing the things that i've just mentioned.

i would rather be a redneck, of course.

It's interesting how labeling in our society is only permissable if it involves white people. I know some "rednecks" who are very good people. Most of them tend to enjoy things like hunting and big trucks, etc. The white trash thing i don't want to get into. I don't believe in name calling.

By definition... white trash... means those who are poor and lazy.... Redneck... means that you're neck is sunburn from workin in the feilds all day... Obviously both are mean things to say to people... but i suppose going by those definitions i'd rather be called a red neck... but i'm none of the above I am a Navy wife... and what they say about us is just a bunch of bull too....

Rednecks take their family members fishing, white trash marry them.
