a one time payment of 6 grand aint squat... however if u mean 6 grand amonth, then yes- you can live on that in parts of the US... though i wouldnt be so sure about san diego... i once rented a house in lakeside, ca (just up the coast from SD) for 1100 a month- plus utilities

it was a 3 bedroom, thus giving you enough room for roomies... and more income to work with too!

Is this per month? If so, though I am not sure if specifically San Diego, but in general, a 72,000 income should be enough to live with. It is more than teachers make, and though it would take you a long while to pay out for a house or something, it still should be enough for paying rent and food. You have to consider how many people make a living with a 30,000 income.

Definately not $6,000 a year. You could easily make more than that with a low paying job. In San Diego, judging by that face that it IS California, house rental would be expensive, plus you would have to buy food, pay the power bill, the water bill, the cable bill, the telephone bill, possibly an internet service bill. You wouldn't even have money left over to spend on yourself.

I don't know of San Diego. But I live in a small town in SC and live on less than 6000 a year. I have a 3 bedroom home with cable ,internet, city water ect... I was a business owner and decided to live a simple more productive live. I will be happy to share how if you would care to write scbicbear@yahoo.com

If your room rental was $300 a month (including energy and water), that would lead to $3600 a year. Then you would have $2400 left for food. Considering you spend 20 dollars a week on food (groceries and not eating out), you would spend a little over $1000 on food. Thus, hypothetically you could survive on $6000 a year, but it wouldn't be luxurious.

you might if that's monthly (6000 a year would buy you a perfect spot on the side of the street begging for money). But in america (at least here in the bay area and around california) you never have enough. That's just how it is here.

Not even close, unless you expect to live in government subsidized housing with 4 or 5 roommates.

Well, whether you're talking about per year income or per month income or per week income you aren't clear about, but, my thoughts on the subject is, give it a try and see how you like it, whichever you're talking about. I think you ain't gonna like it on $6,000.00 per year. $6,000.00 per month (which equals $72,000.00 per year) will give you a whole lot better lifestyle. And $6,000.00 per week (which equals $300,000.00 per year will make you one happy dude!! I hope that helps you.

Well let's see, house rental, 500 bucks minimum per month.
So that makes 6000 right there.. Good luck.
