I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I am afraid Barry's life will most likely be flightless. The loss of Moth wing dust is a serious problem all over the world. In fact I am looking to start a foundation for flightless moths called - "Caterpillars with Wings". Try to make him comfortable and give him words of hope. You can try sprinkling him with baking powder, but I haven't had much success with that. It does make them smell better though. My deepest sympathies in this trying time.

I didn't know a moth was a type of pet. But I would assume it will be OK, they live outside and must get rained on. That doesn't stop them.

oh my goodness i also have a pet moth named barry !!!! that is too neat! let me tell you, my moth gets wet all the time (my toddler tries to flush it all the time, but i get to barry in time) all you have to do is let his wings dry and then he will be fine.
oh and keep your barry away from ceiling fan, cause my barry flew into our ceiling fan and lost a wing....but my toddler made him a pretty new one with consruction paper and we glued it to him....he seems to like it.
hope i helped you

you could always loan him your fairy wings if he has a flight problem. if they are too big for him, my daughter has a small pair she wore when she was younger, and only uses for formal occasions and concerts now that she's a teenager. i'm sure she would loan them to barry for a while.
call your local lepidopterist, he should be able to help.

he just needs time to heal, and a bright light. They love bright lights. Also if the pain gets to bad for him, give him a mild pain reliever, that should help him rest and heal

as long as it wasnt too bad..try using a blow dryer on the low setting and put him in a jar so he does not blow away.
