Here are some mormon populations in hispanic countries:

Mexico - 1,013,071
Central America - 527,511
South America - 2,904,085
Caribbean - 138,511

So yes, there are a lot of Hispanics, and yes they are treated exactly the same. They serve in man y of the churches highest callings including the quarem of the seventy. They church also does a lot to help with poverty striken countries, like the perpetual education fund.

At April 2001 general conference, President Gordon B. Hinckley announced a "bold initiative" to help youth in developing areas "step out of the cycle of poverty." He spoke of returned missionaries and other ambitious young men and women who have great capacity but meager opportunities:

"I believe the Lord does not wish to see His people condemned to live in poverty. I believe He would have the faithful enjoy the good things of the earth. . . .

"In an effort to remedy this [lack of opportunity], we propose a plan . . . which we believe is inspired by the Lord. . . . We shall call it the Perpetual Education Fund."

President Hinckley further declared, "Education is the key to opportunity" (Ensign, May 2001, 53).

The Perpetual Education Fund offers loans to help you get a better education so you can get a better job and better serve your family, the Church, and your community.

But it is more than just a loan. It involves a process that helps you to dream—to see your potential and the resources around you. It will teach you to plan—to choose a great career, select an appropriate education, find work, and organize your finances. Thus, with guidance from Heavenly Father and support from your family and your leaders, you will be able to achieve your dreams.

They probably aren't and shouldn't be. Hispanics are so identified because they speak Spanish. Mormons are identified as such because they are a religious group. You wouldn't go up to a Mormon and start speaking Spanish just because they were Mormon. You wouldn't presume that all Hispanic were familiar with Mormon beliefs and rituals. Some may be treated the same. I wouldn't ask a Mormon for a Corona.
