South Beach! Enough said forget Miami and North Miami Beach. It has the hottest women, and many are topless. Not exactly legal but not enforced.
Theres are tons of websites for hotels, and there are many offering deals now.
Would suggest you stay at one on either Ocean Blvd(across from the beach) or Collins( the next street back) between 400-1600 north. From there you can walk almost anywhere, but there are plenty of cabs. dont rent a car its a waste and parking is a B*tch.
Most of the clubs and restaurants are there. The restaurants on Ocean are a rip off better to go to Lincoln Rd.
Mango's is a tourist Must on Ocean Blvd, go there at Least once for a few hours its a trip, but there are a ton of other bars and clubs of all type. If you are going to one of the "in" clubs of the month get there before 9 and dress nice otherwise you have a problem getting in and/or have to wait hours outside.
If you are into Blues, R & B, Blues Rock take a cab to Tobaco Road on the mainland jsut west of downtown(about $20 each way) its the oldest bar in Miami-crowded on the weekends but no problem getting in- tow bars-2 bands- and reasonable priced good food.

go to south beach and stay there. other than south beach and miami beach there nothing fun for a tourist to do. once you get inland its pretty dangerous especially if your white. one thing to expect is not being able to interact with anybody that isnt a tourist cuz they dont know english.
