Why do you ask questions on Yahoo! Answers and wait for an answer when you could go to Google or Ask.com and get an answer right away?

Did you google this question first? Some things aren't available by doing a GOOGLE search. Sometimes it is just fun to see the responses you will get here. Some people just really want to know what other people think.

I have never heard of ask .com, I live in a bubble, and not all the questions asked on this site can be answered by an internet search engine,like in the philosophy section, although it is probably less controversial, and no one gets sent to torture chambers for being suspended or violation notices from google, where is the excitement?

Good question... There are a few reasons, one or more of which can possibly the reason for my posting the question based on the individual situation...
1. I have already searched and found nothing.
2. I need answers fast when I don't have time to research.
3. I need answers to more "oppinion" based questions that require personal experience or input of other users.
4. I can afford the points...Why save when they don't really go toward anything?
5. To give others something to do and give people the chance to get 10 points for their hard work.
6. Because I'm too lazy at the moment and don't want to Google it...

there are some questions that can not be found on google like curiosaty type to see how many people feel one way about somthing and for the social aspect

Because here you get more than one response and you aren't continually opening and closing website till you find the one that actually answers you. Here everyone answer with their knowledge or own research and it is all right in front of you at one time. In other words it's easier.

If it is a knowledge type question, I use Google. If I want an opinion answer or local information, I use Yahoo Answers. If everyone did their own research, there would be a lot fewer questions.

It's fun to get points and you get real people answers as opposed to a computer generated answer. Sometimes you want people's opinions and it's easy to get it this way.

becoz , we got lot of answers for the same questions. some answering methods are very great . I like very much to answer the questions, and also i thank each question askers, becoz of them i knew a lot of things by answering their questions.
