1. Not that bad, it goes pretty quickly.
2. Start with a ring, it's easier to keep clean and you won't catch it on your clothes. Once it heals you can change your jewlery.
3. Use an unscented soap like Dial. You should clean it like 3 times a day. Don't use anything like alcohol on it, it will dry it up. You might also be told to use an antibiotic ointment on it but they will tell you exactly what to use.
4. You don't have to have a flat stomach, just not rolls and rolls of fat!
5. It won't close right away but don't leave your ring out too long (more than a day or so). Don't take the ring out until you've completly healed or it will close up pretty quickly.
6. The piercer (make sure you use a PROFESSIONAL!) won't hit the stomach lining. They only pierce through a very small piece of flesh (which is why it's not that hard to rip it out if you pull it very hard- although it would have to be pulled VERY hard, it's in deep enough to prevent tearing).
7. You shouldn't feel like you are going to throw up, if you do, just take deep breaths. The do it very quickly. They actually pierce it with a straight needle first and then put the piece of jewlery in afterwards so you can take a few minutes if you feel ill or faint, just let them know and they can wait.
8. Ask the peircer how long you should wait. You will be sore for a few days. I would recommend wearing a large bandade over the peircing in the beginning to prevent catching it or hitting it (especially if you dive for a ball). Once it heals you should be fine to do whatever you normally do.

Good luck, be careful and sterile and enjoy your new piercing!

1) No, I didn't even feel mine it was more pressure then any thing else,
2) I would go with a ring with the ball on each end these are less likely to get torn out and are easy to clean.
3) I used Bactine and a cleansing contact solution it worked well .
4) No you don't need a flat stomach I was over weight when i got mine and it was fine , i lost weight since then and have not noticed a huge difference.
5) If you take the ring out early the hole will grow shut and you will have a small scar , if you wait I think it was like 9 weeks to be safe you can leave it out over night and such and be fine.
6) You really don't have to worry about that. Just check and make sure your going to a good shop you can check the better business bureau.
7) No, I did not neither did any of my friends , I have never heard of that reaction but I guess it could very well happen if your needle shy.
8) You should be fine right away just be careful to not ripe your ring out . I would recommend covering it with some gauze maybe.
I hope this helps good luck

Hurts like any either piercing, Just make sure you breath. Holding your breath will hurt more. Ring Much easier to clean then a bar. Sea salt or bactine. I would think a flat stomach would make it look better. The hole will always stay there somake sure you really want it. The best piercer will make sure of that. No you don't feel like throwing up and for your last question It will be sore For a couple days I guess it depends how fast you heal. I started to play softball a week after.

1. It hurts a little, depending on if they know what they are doing.
2. Bar.
3. They'll tell you what to use and how often.
4. No.
5. It's like having an earring. Don't leave it w/o a bar or a ring for too long though.
6. They squeeze the skin together on a small circle like thing. If you pinch the skin together below your button, you can see how it stretches.
7. Not at the moment.
8. I don't know, ask them.
Make sure they do it right the first time. Ask the questions you want to know. If nothing else, they'll maybe have a pamplet you can read.

1. yes it hurts. the bottom hurts more than the top part
2. hoop for the top bar for the bottom
3. Bactine - peroxide eats away the skin when it tries to heal
4. no, you do not need a flat stomach, but everybody looking at it will appreciate looking at it more if you choose to show it off
5. the hole will eventually close up
6. the stomach lining is way deeper inside your body, piercing is only the skin
7. no, you wont feel like your going to throw up, unless that is how you normally feel when you get a shot, ot got your ears pierced
8. You can play sports right after, just be care to keep it protected with a band aid or something so it doesn't get caught because it will be tender for a few days until it heals

What risks are involved when getting a belly button piercing?
Risks can include painful and potentially serious infection of the abdomen and blood poisoning. Improperly sterilized equipment can spread infections. An amateur body piercer can also cause nerve damage or scarring. Infection can still occur even when properly sterilized equipment is used. An infected piercing hurts, looks red and swollen, can weep and may feel hot to the touch. If your piercing looks infected, see a medical professional or body piercer for treatment.

Who should not get their belly button pierced?
If your belly button does not have the skin for the piercing to hold, the ring will likely migrate out. It will not let the belly button ring lye flat against your navel. An "outtie belly button" has more surface scar tissue to deal with, but a seasoned body piercer can pierce an outtie belly button. Most people choose a vertical piercing that enters inside the belly button and exits through the skin above the belly button.

How can you take care of a new belly button piercing?
To help the healing process of your belly button piercing, wash it twice every day. Note, over cleansing can interfere with your body’s natural ability to fight off infection. Always sanitize your hands before touching your belly button ring. Apply a diluted salt solution to your piercing for five minutes in order to soak off dried material. Clean with soap that contains antibacterial properties and rotate it through the piercing for approximately one minute. Rinse your belly button piercing thoroughly; make sure no traces of soap are left, and then pat it dry.

How long will your belly button piercing take to heal and why can healing be difficult?
A completely healed belly button piercing can take up to one and a half years. Belly button piercings can be difficult to heal because of exposure to poorly chlorinated waters; also clothing and sweat can irritate the piercing. Factors that can slow the healing process include bad quality jewelry, stress, illness, lack of proper care and a poor diet. If not cared for properly a belly button piercing can take 1-2 years to heal and is an easy target for recurring infection.

During pregnancy can you leave your belly button ring in?
If you are pregnant you can wear your belly button ring up to the 5th or 6th month. Once the skin on your abdomen begins to significantly stretch you should take it out or upsize the gauge.

Can you remove your belly button ring?
If your piercing is new you will most likely be wearing a captive bead ring. I suggest going back to the shop you got the piercing at and ask them to remove it and replace it with your new body jewelry. If your belly button piercing is healed then wash your hands, your navel and the new body jewelry that you will be inserting. Next unscrew the ball that is in your piercing and pull the barbell down and out, then insert your new body jewelry into your piercing from the inside of the belly button up and out and screw the ball on.

This is all I could find about it. I hope it helps. Below is the website so you can look for yourself.

it feels like a quick pinch, defenatly a bar.i used the stuff they give ya to clean it.no u dont have to have a flat stomach, dont take the ring outy,it will close in the matter of hours.no you dont feel like your going to throw up,its just real real quick.you could pry play ball the next day, just be careful.and dont get anything in it.it looks so cute in the belly button,ur really going to like it,it dosent hurt or get infected if you just leave it alone and keep your fingers away from it unless they are clean.it heals in no time,i had it done twice, never get the ring, that sticks out, falls out,and is more easily infected.the bar is the way to go.good luck, youll really like it.

1-nope 2 seconds and its done
2-bar but the one with plastic as the barel is the best
3-salt water to make sure it does not get infected and the key is to just leave it to heal, dont mess with it
4-nope, it can be just there for yourself
5-the hole will close up if u remove it soon after, but if its just to change the ring, your fine, but my advice is to leave it in for a year straight, or more
6-they know, they measure b4 they put the needle
7-nope
8-right after, just careful
