it's in dollars, and it's 8 hours a day for one month, then 5 and a half hours for another month. and it's 2 kids. and they pay for food and stuff like that.

I was a nanny for 2 years. I took care of 4 kids, from 3-11, and worked 10 hour days, 5-6 days a week. I only got $1513 a month. Period. I would, definitely, be saying something about the pay the first month since you will be doing most of the work then. Believe me, nannying means doing light housework (vacuuming, dusting, dishes, etc), feeding the children/making meals, playing with the kids, taking them places, doing some laundry (kids), cleaning kids rooms if they are too young to do it themselves, guiding the children in the right direction, etc.
If you take $2400 and divide it by 3 months, it is only $800 a month. Will that be enough for you to pay for your gas, food, bills, auto insurance, rent/mortgage, etc? I realize that they will pay for the food while you are there, but you will still need to pay for things at home.
You also need to consider the ages of the children, how much work they want you to do other than watching the kids (what they expect of you), etc. Personally, I would negotiate this price so it is higher, especially the first month. I wouldn't do it, personally, for less than $1000 a month. And I would type up a contract that states EXACTLY what they expect of you and what they are going to pay you, what your hours will be, and what exactly is to happen if you end up working overtime--such as do they call in another sitter or do they pay you overtime. Once it is typed up, I would have you and the parents sign it.
Good luck! I do hope this helps!

depends:
how many hours?
how many days per week?
including holidays?
how many kids?
what age groups are the kid(s) in?
any housework, laundry duty etc involved?
their house or your house?
are you going to live at their house while you're the nanny? will you have to pay any bills etc?
Good Luck :-)

it depends on how many kids your watching all summer long, where you live, (or are going to be living) if they pay for your room and food those kinds of things, if its just one or 2 kids i think your getting a good deal.
