Go here and download the free trial of Win Task 5 Pro.

When you open the program a window will show all the process that are running. Highlight each on and at the bottom of the window it will explain the process and whether you should end it or not. Bring up task mgr and compare the lists. Anything on tsk mgr that is not on win task 5 needs to be checked. Put the item in google search (spell exactly as listed in tsk mgr. Do not alter one letter). Google will bring up sites that will explain it and you can then decide what you want to do. You can have several svchost.exe that are legit.

keep explorer.exe
it makes your computer run the desktop and taskbar
restart your computer and see if they show up then. if they do then go to start>run>msconfig
click on startup tab
go through the list. try to see what you need. look at the location and see if you regognize it.

another thing
if you just want to speed up your comp for this one time
end all tasks under your user name (click username to sort it)
do not end explorer.exe, but if you do by mistake, no biggy
go to start>run>type in "explorer.exe" and problem solved

hope this helps

svhost.exe and explorer.exe are system file... If you close it, it will of course reboot. It may also take up to quite a number of these programs running at a time depends on your current process.

To clean unwanted loaded program during startup, please go to

START > RUN

Type in....

msconfig

go startup , click disable all. only enable those u think u need to load like .. msn mesenger, identify the names pls... for anonymous... please disable it....
