It is sad how peoples idea of love is nothing more than an emotion. Hobo has paint a very good picture of what love is, but I will take it a step further.
Love is many things and manifests itself in many ways, but the underlying issue is not to see it as a feeling. Feelings and emotions come and they go. This is why people fall out of love. If you truly love someone, there is never a time you fall out of love with them.
It is a choice and a reaction to that choice. It is choosing that you want to meet every desire, need, and longing of another person. It is unconditional selflessness and takes many years, if not a live time, to accomplish. As you work on loving the other person, you will grow closer and closer together until you have become one.
Looking past the other's faults and floating on air is nice, but that is nothing more than what is referred to as puppy love or even lust. When you find that person who you want to spend the rest of your life with, you have chosen to love them. Don't go being selfish and wanting just a feeling, because it won't last if you do.

Does your heart skip a beat when they are near ? Do you feel a little dizzy when they walk into the same room with you ? Do you just want to do something nice for them, or put there needs before yours ? I could go on but I think you get my drift. True love is one of the most gratifying and terrifying feelings one can feel at the same time. Most important to a good love relationship though is a strong foundation based on mutual respect, friendship, honesty and trust and the willingness to put aside both your petty feelings and do things that are good for the relationship. Also you must have the foresight to give space when your partner needs it, as they see two trees must grow together, neither overshadowing the other.

You need to read the bible...Corinthians 13...love is patient...
You will know it...if you asked this question then you are not ready. Be patient. I know people that have never felt love. This is sad, but it may just be who you are. I have known others that have been in love and out of love and yet others that love is boundless and endless. You'll know. The important thing is...can you stay in love?

When u think about the person more than u think of any thing else. When u believe that whatever he does must be right in some way. When u care about him more than ur self. When u get lost when he is in front of u. When u don't have anything to talk about except him, THEN CONSIDER YOU ARE IN LOVE!

I'm convinced that "in love" is hollywoods lable for infatuation and lust.
you know you love someone when you can overlook your selfish desires and want whats best for them. at least thats one of the many faces of love and usually the harder one to achieve because humans are naturally self-centered.
don't listen to this "if you have doubts, it's not real" crap. people that say that live in a fantasy life that they will never see manifested in reality. people doubt. it's what we do. it doesn't mean you're wrong, it means your human and you probably need some conformation.

Love isn't about "knowing". If you have to think about it, it's not love. Love is something that is outside of conventional thought, therefore it can't be known by anyone. It's just there.

When love exists. I mean most people experience lust not love. Love is this emotion that most (to all) people will never really experience. It is like world peace. It sounds nice but it isn't going to happen

Like = Chemistry = attracted to someone's character, physique, personalities, or achievements, etc...
Love = "Like" plus fond memories that already created... have already known the person in a deeper level...

Love is comfort, and comfort is relative. The more I know Him, the more comfort I find in my soul.
