I had unprotected sex 2 wks ago. I got my period about 4 days ago. A little cramping, regular bleeding. For the last 3 days I have been feeling dizzy, nauseous, and lightheaded. Could I be pregnant? Or anemic maybe? Haven't changed my diet and I eat well balanced meals. Can you be pregnant and still get your period 2 wks after you have sex?

YES! you can! Many young girls can still get their periods, even if they are pregnant, because their body is still adjusting to being pregnant. I would buy a home pregnancy test to put your mind to rest, or visit planned parenthood or free clinic. They can give you a free test, and, if you are pregnant, help you with your options. Clinics often give out free birth control pills, which are 99% effective if used everyday correctly. Condoms can be found anywhere (majic mart, Grocery store, etc.), and if used correctly are 98% effective. I am not judging you, I am just saying that pregnancy CAN be prevented. If you are pregnant, make sure that you do what is best for you AND your unborn child.

You *cannot* get your period if you are pregnant. Menstruation is the result of ovulation that does *not* result in pregnancy.

However, you *can* bleed while pregnant. Usually, this is shorter, lighter in quantity, and/or brown or pink instead of red. Some women have bleeding that really looks like a period--but it *isn't*.

So, yes, you *could* be pregnant. Two weeks before your period was due is the time when you were probably most fertile, so sex at that time is very likely to result in pregnancy.

Take a pregnancy test.

some people have early pregancy spotting to the point of feeling like it's a regular period & the dizziness/queeziness is characteristic of pregnancy....on the other hand if it's quite a heavy period, you may have conceived & had an extremely early miscarriage and lose lots of blood rendering you anemic & with the same symptoms....If it keeps up, run an ept and if you're not pregnant, need to see your gyn, cos' if you miscarried, you may need a d/c or you may have another gyn disorder. But do start on a heavy dose of Iron nevertheless...it never hurts.

According to literature you can have your period and be pregnant. It is highly unlikely but can happen. In a period the lining of your uterus is sloughed off and that is also where the embryo is attached. If you are hving symptoms of a pregnancy, wait until you are atleast a week late, and take a test. then also use your first urine of the day. It contains the most beta hcg which sustains the pregnancy and make the test positive. If you start having problems, please see a doctor. I am not intending to give medical advice, just suggesions.

you can still have your period throughout pregnancy, but thats sort of rare. however its not unnormal to get the first one if it was close to the time you think you could have maybe gotten pregnant. there are many other reasons why you could feel dizzy or faint, and usually if you just had sex, you wouldnt be feeling any pregnancy symptoms if you were in fact pregnant yet. my advice would be to see what the rest of your period is like and just remember your dates. quit worrying about it and see if it goes away in a few days. and go to the doctor to be sure. and another thing, dont have unprotected sex. theres a good chance you could be pregnant and if your not, next time might be your lucky time.

Yes, you can have period and still be pregnant. It could also be that you were pregnant and are experiencing a mis-carriage. Tubal pregnancies can also be present and you can still be having period. If symptoms continue or bleeding gets heavier, you need to see you gynecologist.

It's definately possible but most women don't experience symptoms of pregnancy until about 6 weeks. The best thing to do would be to get a pregnancy test and put your mind at ease.

You really should know better than to have unprotected sex... You do realize there are 2 strains of HIV now? One is untreatable.. When you sleep with someone, you sleep with whoever they had sex with before you and on and on...So your having sex with hundreds of people.

And yes you can still have your period while PG but it is not the same as you would have normally..lighter and shorter.
